Use case: meetings

An AI meeting assistant without a bot in your call

AuraCloak is a private AI chat window for Windows that floats over Zoom, Teams or Google Meet. It never joins the meeting and never records it. You type or say a question, read the answer, and Windows keeps the overlay out of your screen share.

Why it is different

Most "botless" meeting assistants still capture the call audio

Search for an AI meeting assistant without a bot and most results are notetakers that moved the bot onto your laptop. Jamie, Granola and similar apps skip the extra tile in the participant list, but they still pick up what everyone says through your speakers so they can transcribe it later. That is handy when you need minutes. It also means you are recording other people, which many companies and some jurisdictions only allow with consent.

AuraCloak does something smaller. It is a chat window for you alone, and it doesn't hear the call. When you want help, press Ctrl+Alt+Space, type the question (or press Alt+V and say it into your own mic), and the answer streams in from the AI provider you chose. The same hotkey hides it again. Everyone else in the meeting sees your face and your shared screen, exactly as before.

The trade-off is real. AuraCloak won't write minutes for you. If you need a transcript, pair it with a notetaker your team has agreed to use. If you need an answer while people are still talking, a private overlay beats a summary that lands in your inbox an hour later.

Scenarios

Five meeting moments where a private AI assistant helps

The number you were supposed to know

Finance asks for last quarter's churn and the dashboard is on your second monitor. Press Alt+S, and the overlay hides itself, screenshots every screen and attaches the image. Ask it to read the figure out for you.

The acronym nobody explained

Someone says the deal is waiting on a "SOC 2 bridge letter". Type it in and get a two-line explanation before the discussion comes back to you.

A reply you have to get right

A stakeholder pushes back hard. Paste or dictate their point, ask for a calm two-sentence answer, then say it in your own words.

Notes while you present

Keep the agenda and talking points in the overlay at 60% opacity over the deck you are sharing. Windows leaves the window out of the share, so the room sees only the slides.

Action items as you go

Type "add: Priya owns the vendor shortlist, due Friday" whenever one comes up. At the end, ask for a clean list to paste into Slack. AuraCloak sends the last 10 exchanges as context, so ask before the thread runs long.

Back-to-back project calls

Put your team names, product terms and preferred answer length in the custom system prompt once. Every question after that starts with the context you would otherwise retype.

Example prompts

What people actually type mid-meeting

Short questions, short answers. Replies below are examples; yours depend on the model you pick.

Quick definition

You: difference between ARR and run-rate revenue, one sentence, I'm about to be asked

Reply: ARR annualizes only recurring subscription revenue; run-rate annualizes everything from the latest period, including one-off and usage fees.

Screenshot, then ask

You: Alt+S which line on this chart dropped the most between Q2 and Q3?

Reply: The "Self-serve" line, from roughly 410 to 290 sign-ups. The other three stay within 5% of their Q2 values.

Tone fix

You: make this less defensive: "we already told you the timeline slipped because of the API vendor"

Reply: The date moved because our API vendor delayed their release. Here is the new date and what we are doing to protect it.

Push-to-talk

You (Alt+V): give me two good questions to ask design about the onboarding drop-off

Reply: 1. Which step loses the most people, and did that change after the last redesign? 2. What do people who finish onboarding do differently in their first session?

What the call sees

Your notes stay on your monitor

AuraCloak asks Windows to exclude its window from screen capture with the WDA_EXCLUDEFROMCAPTURE flag. Zoom, Teams, Meet in a browser, Slack and OBS all capture through Windows, so a full-screen share shows whatever is behind the overlay.

  • Requires Windows 10 version 2004 or later, or Windows 11
  • Press Alt+C for click-through, so you can keep using the app underneath
  • A phone camera pointed at your screen still sees it, so treat it as private, not secret
Setup

Ready before your next meeting

Install and activate

Run the 50 MB installer on Windows 10 or 11 and paste the license key from your purchase email.

Pick your AI

Paste a key for OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, Azure OpenAI or a custom endpoint, sign in to GitHub Copilot, or use browser mode with your ChatGPT login.

Add meeting context

Write a system prompt such as "I'm a PM at a payroll startup. Answer in two sentences unless I ask for more."

Press the hotkey

Ctrl+Alt+Space shows it. Type, talk with Alt+V or screenshot with Alt+S.

FAQ

AI meeting assistant questions

Does AuraCloak join or record my meetings?

No. AuraCloak never connects to Zoom, Teams or Google Meet and never captures call audio. It is a chat window on your PC. Voice input is push-to-talk from your own microphone: press Alt+V to start and Alt+V again to stop and send.

Can people in the meeting see the overlay when I share my screen?

Not through the screen share. AuraCloak sets the Windows WDA_EXCLUDEFROMCAPTURE flag, so Zoom, Teams, Google Meet in a browser, Slack and OBS leave the window out of what they capture. It needs Windows 10 version 2004 or later. A phone camera pointed at your monitor will still see it.

Can AuraCloak take meeting notes or write a transcript?

It cannot transcribe the meeting, because it never hears the other participants. You can type notes into the chat as you go and ask the AI to tidy them into action items at the end. AuraCloak sends the last 10 exchanges as context, so do that before the thread gets long.

Which meeting apps does it work with?

Any app on Windows 10 or 11, because the overlay is a separate window that floats above everything. That includes Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet in Chrome or Edge, Slack huddles and Discord.

What does it cost to use AuraCloak in meetings?

AuraCloak is $9 a month or $49 once for lifetime access, with every feature in both plans. AI usage is billed by your provider if you use an API key, or costs nothing extra if you use browser mode with an existing ChatGPT or Claude subscription.
