Cluely for Windows: what the download needs, and what it costs to hide it

Yes, there's a Cluely download for Windows now. It lists Windows 11 on x64 only, and keeping it out of your screen share takes the $149.99 a month plan. Here's what to check before you install, and the Windows-first option if either of those is a problem.

Short answer

Cluely for Windows exists: cluely.com/download offers a Windows installer for Windows 11 on x64, with 500 MB of disk and 8 GB of RAM recommended (checked October 11, 2026). The download is free. Screen share hiding is only in Pro + Undetectability at $149.99 a month. On Windows 10, or on a budget, AuraCloak covers the hidden-overlay part for $49 once.

Is there a Cluely app for Windows?

There is. If you searched "cluely for windows" and found pages saying it's Mac-only, they're out of date or reading the wrong page. Here's where the confusion comes from:

  • cluely.com/download has a "Download for Windows" button and says "Available for macOS and Windows". Its page title is "Download Cluely for Mac & Windows".
  • cluely.com/pricing still shows a "Get for Mac" button and an App Store link, with no Windows button. If you start from pricing, it looks Mac-only.
  • Directory listings such as AlternativeTo were written when Cluely was Mac-only and still list it that way.

So the honest answer to "is Cluely on Windows" is yes, with conditions. The conditions are what this page is about.

Cluely Windows system requirements

These are copied from each vendor's download page as of October 2026. If your PC fails one line in Cluely's column, that's your answer before you even think about pricing.

Not sure which Windows you have? Press Win+R, type winver and press Enter. The dialog says "Windows 11" or "Windows 10" at the top and shows a version like 22H2. Any Windows 10 version from 2004 onward (20H2, 21H1, 21H2, 22H2) works with AuraCloak; only Windows 11 is listed by Cluely.

How to download Cluely on Windows safely

  1. Go to cluely.com/download directly. Type it; don't click an ad.
  2. Click "Download for Windows". The installer comes from Cluely's own API domain.
  3. If Microsoft Defender SmartScreen shows a warning, check that the publisher shown matches the vendor before you click "Run anyway".
  4. Open the app and pick a plan. The free Starter plan works for trying the overlay, but it doesn't hide from screen share.
Skip "Cluely crack" and "free Cluely Windows" sites

An overlay app reads your screen and often your microphone. A repackaged build from a file-sharing site is a very cheap way to hand someone both. Community projects on GitHub named "free-cluely" are separate open-source apps, not Cluely, and should be judged on their own code.

Which Cluely plan you need on Windows

Cluely's three plans, as listed on cluely.com/pricing on October 11, 2026:

Pro + Undetectability$149.99/moYesEverything in Pro

If you were planning to share your screen with Cluely open, only the third row matters. The full math is in our Cluely pricing breakdown.

How hiding from screen share works on Windows

This part surprises people. On Windows there's no secret sauce: since Windows 10 version 2004, any app can call SetWindowDisplayAffinity with the WDA_EXCLUDEFROMCAPTURE flag, and Windows leaves that window out of every capture that goes through the operating system. Zoom, Teams, Google Meet in a browser, OBS, Loom, Xbox Game Bar, the Snipping Tool and PrintScreen all capture that way.

AuraCloak uses exactly that flag. We haven't inspected how Cluely's Windows build implements its undetectability mode, so we won't make claims about it. What we can say is that the Windows feature itself has the same limits for every app that uses it:

  • A phone or camera pointed at the monitor still sees the window.
  • Hardware capture cards and remote-desktop setups are outside Windows capture APIs.
  • On builds older than 2004, Windows shows a black box in place of the window instead of hiding it.

More detail, including a test you can run in five minutes: WDA_EXCLUDEFROMCAPTURE explained.

On Windows 10, or not keen on $149.99 a month? AuraCloak includes screen share hiding on both plans.

Cluely on Windows 10: your options

Cluely doesn't list Windows 10, so you're choosing between three paths:

  1. Upgrade to Windows 11, if your PC meets Microsoft's Windows 11 requirements (TPM 2.0 and a supported CPU). On a company laptop that's IT's call, not yours.
  2. Try the installer anyway. It might run, but you'd be outside what Cluely says it supports, so problems are yours to debug.
  3. Use a Windows 10 friendly overlay. AuraCloak, GhostDesk and Natively all state Windows 10 support. They differ a lot on price and features; see our comparison of invisible AI assistants.

AuraCloak: built only for Windows

AuraCloak is a native .NET 8 WPF app with a WebView2 chat window. It doesn't run on Mac and isn't trying to. That focus shows up in small ways: global hotkeys that don't fight other apps, a per-monitor screenshot shortcut for multi-screen desks, and a tray icon so the overlay can start hidden.

ActionDefault hotkey
Show or hide the overlayCtrl+Alt+Space
Screenshot all monitors into the chatAlt+S
Screenshot one monitorAlt+Shift+1 to 9
Voice start, then stop and sendAlt+V
Click-through on or offAlt+C

All of these can be changed in auracloak.ini.

Where it differs from Cluely in ways that might matter to you: AuraCloak doesn't listen to the call or write meeting notes. You bring the AI: an API key for OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, GitHub Copilot, Azure OpenAI or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint, or your ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini web login through browser mode. Voice input is push-to-talk from your microphone, through Windows speech or a local Whisper model that keeps audio on your PC.

FAQ

Is Cluely available for Windows?

Yes. As of October 2026, cluely.com/download offers a Windows installer. The listed requirements are Windows 11, an x64 processor, 500 MB of free disk space and 8 GB of RAM recommended. Cluely's pricing page still shows Mac and iOS download buttons, which is why older listings call it Mac-only.

Does Cluely work on Windows 10?

Cluely's download page lists Windows 11 as the Windows requirement and does not mention Windows 10, so Windows 10 is not officially supported. AuraCloak supports Windows 10 version 2004 or later as well as Windows 11.

Is the Cluely Windows download free?

The download is free and the Starter plan is free with limited AI responses. Hiding Cluely from screen share requires the Pro + Undetectability plan, listed at $149.99 a month on cluely.com/pricing in October 2026.

Is it safe to download Cluely from other sites?

Download Cluely only from cluely.com. Sites offering cracked, modded or unlocked Cluely builds are a common way to ship malware, and an overlay app that can see your screen is the last thing you want from an unknown source.

Does Cluely for Windows support ARM laptops?

Cluely lists an x64 (64-bit) processor for Windows. It does not mention ARM. AuraCloak is also built for x64.
