Pick by what matters to you
You're on Windows and want to pay once
AuraCloak at $49 is the cheapest lifetime option we found. Pluely's Dev Pro is $120 once and adds Mac and Linux. GhostDesk and Cluely don't offer lifetime plans.
You want it free
Natively is free for personal, non-commercial use with your own API keys. Pluely's free plan also runs on your own keys. You pay the AI provider directly either way.
You want the AI to hear the meeting
Cluely, Natively, Pluely and GhostDesk transcribe call audio. AuraCloak doesn't; it only takes what you type, screenshot or say into your own mic with push-to-talk. That's a deliberate privacy choice, and also a real limitation if you want automatic context.
You're preparing for interviews
Final Round AI and LockedIn AI bundle mock interviews, resume tools and debriefs. AuraCloak is a general overlay; for interview prep it's a place for your notes and practice prompts, nothing more. Whatever you use, follow the rules the interviewer sets.
Windows-native, hidden from screen share on both plans, $49 once.

Read →What "invisible" actually means
Every product here hides from software capture, not from people. On Windows, the documented way is a single API call: SetWindowDisplayAffinity with the WDA_EXCLUDEFROMCAPTURE flag, available since Windows 10 version 2004. After that call, Windows itself leaves the window out of anything captured through its APIs, which covers Zoom, Teams, Google Meet in a browser, OBS, Loom and the Snipping Tool.
Three things it doesn't cover, for any vendor:
- A phone or webcam pointed at your monitor.
- Hardware capture cards and remote-desktop sessions, which sit outside Windows capture APIs.
- Windows builds older than 2004, where the window shows as a black box instead of disappearing.
So when a vendor promises total undetectability, read it as marketing. We explain the mechanism and a five-minute self-test in WDA_EXCLUDEFROMCAPTURE explained, and the practical side in how to hide a window from screen share.
Five questions to ask before you pay for any of them
- Which plan actually includes the hidden mode? Cluely is the clearest example of a free plan and a mid plan that don't hide from screen share. Read the feature grid, not the headline price.
- Does it run on my exact Windows version? Run
winver. "Windows support" sometimes means Windows 11 only. - Who pays for the AI? Bundled-model plans cap requests or hours. BYOK plans bill you at the provider's rate, which for light use is often a few dollars a month.
- Does it capture call audio, and where does that audio go? If your employer or client has rules about recording, a tool that transcribes the call may break them even if you never look at the transcript.
- What happens when I stop paying? Monthly plans stop working. A lifetime license keeps working.
Also worth knowing about
Glass by Pickle was a popular open-source overlay that listened to audio and read the screen, with macOS builds and Windows in beta. When we checked on October 11, 2026, its GitHub repository (pickle-com/glass) returned a 404, though forks and an Arch Linux package remain. We'd treat it as unmaintained until that changes.
Interview-only tools such as Parakeet AI, Verve AI, Beyz AI and AceRound sell live interview copilots. They're outside the scope of this page, which compares general-purpose overlays.
How we put this together
We read each vendor's pricing page, download page and, where there is one, GitHub repository on October 10 and 11, 2026. We recorded the cheapest plan that includes screen share hiding, because that's the feature people compare these tools on. We didn't buy every competitor's paid plan, so we don't score answer quality or latency; anyone who claims to have measured those across eight tools should show their method. We'll re-check prices monthly.
FAQ
What is the best invisible AI assistant in 2026?
It depends on your platform and budget. On Windows with a small budget, AuraCloak ($49 once) is the cheapest paid option with screen share hiding included. For free and open source, look at Natively or Pluely. For automatic meeting notes on a Mac, Cluely. For a full interview prep suite, Final Round AI or LockedIn AI.
Which invisible AI assistant is cheapest?
Natively is free for personal, non-commercial use and Pluely has a free bring-your-own-key plan. Among paid plans that include screen share hiding, AuraCloak's $49 lifetime license is the lowest we found in October 2026, followed by Pluely Dev Pro at $120 one-time.
Are invisible AI assistants really invisible?
They are hidden from software screen capture, not from people. On Windows they use an operating system flag that tells capture tools like Zoom, Teams and OBS to skip the window. A phone camera pointed at the screen still sees it, and hardware capture cards are outside that mechanism.
Which invisible AI assistants work on Windows 10?
AuraCloak (version 2004 or later), GhostDesk (build 19041 or later) and Natively (Windows 10/11) state Windows 10 support. Cluely's Windows download lists Windows 11 only.
