How we compared
We make AuraCloak. Final Round AI details come from finalroundai.com and its pricing page, read on October 11, 2026. Where its page leaves something out (model choice, exact billing terms), we say "not stated" and point to what third parties have reported, labeled as theirs.
Final Round AI pricing in 2026
Final Round AI's pricing page shows two plans. Free covers the prep side: unlimited job goals with your resume and materials, job description parsing, a prep checklist and the desktop app. Pro, listed from $25 a month, unlocks the live copilot, Stealth Mode, practice interviews, automatic debriefs and Screen Help. The page says there's no free trial.
Here's the catch. The page says you can "save up to 40%" on longer plans but doesn't list each term, so $25 may be a discounted rate on a longer commitment. Third-party reviews published in 2026 reported Final Round monthly prices around $148, and one comparison cited about $96 a month billed quarterly. Check which term the $25 refers to on the checkout screen.
| Scenario | Final Round AI | AuraCloak |
|---|---|---|
| One year at the lowest listed rate | $300 ($25 x 12) | $49 lifetime |
| One year at a reported $148 monthly rate | $1,776 | $49 lifetime |
| Two years | $600 or more | $49 lifetime |
| AI usage | Included | Your provider bill, or $0 extra in browser mode |
The comparison isn't perfectly even. Final Round's price includes its AI. AuraCloak's doesn't: you add a pay-as-you-go API key, or run browser mode on a ChatGPT Plus or Claude Pro plan you already pay for. Even so, AuraCloak is the cheaper Final Round AI alternative for anyone who doesn't need the interview program itself. Details on the AuraCloak pricing page.
Where Final Round AI is stronger
If interviews are the whole reason you're shopping, Final Round AI simply does more. Its practice mode runs mock interviews across eight scenarios: general, coding, system design, behavioral, product case, data and ML, salary negotiation, and recruiter screen. Each session produces a debrief, and readiness signals feed into the next one. Goals keep your resume, the job description and a checklist together per role.
It also runs on macOS 14.4 and later, which AuraCloak never will, and the free plan lets you organize prep without paying anything.
None of that exists in AuraCloak. We'd rather you know that before buying.
How to prepare for interviews with AuraCloak instead
AuraCloak has no interview module, but a general overlay with your own model covers more prep than you'd expect. A typical evening before an interview looks like this:
- Set a custom system prompt: "You are a hiring manager for a senior backend role. Ask one question at a time and critique my answers."
- Paste the job description and your resume as a PDF or text file.
- Answer out loud with Alt+V. Local Whisper transcribes on your PC, so your practice audio never leaves the machine.
- Press Alt+S on a practice coding problem or system design diagram and ask the model to review your approach.
- Keep the overlay open with your STAR stories and company research while you rehearse, and switch models (Claude for critique, GPT for a second opinion) from the provider menu.
The overlay keeps the last 10 exchanges as context, so a mock session holds together. There's no score or debrief report, though, and that's the real gap versus Final Round. One more thing worth saying plainly: many employers treat hidden live help during an interview as a rules violation, so check the rules before you use any copilot in a real one.
Practice with GPT, Claude or Gemini in an always-on-top overlay for $49 once.
Get AuraCloakWhere AuraCloak is stronger: everything that isn't an interview
AuraCloak is built for the rest of your week too: a sales demo when the prospect asks about SSO pricing, a presentation with notes sitting over the slides, or a pairing session where you screenshot a stack trace with Alt+S. Final Round AI is built around job interviews, and its features follow that.
AuraCloak also gives you model choice. Connect OpenAI or Anthropic Claude with a key, Gemini with a key or Google sign-in, GitHub Copilot with your GitHub login, Azure OpenAI for company-approved deployments, or Ollama, LM Studio and OpenRouter through a custom endpoint. Final Round's site doesn't say which models it runs.
Privacy and screen share invisibility
Final Round AI says its Stealth Mode keeps copilot windows out of screen shares and recordings, on by default in Pro. Answers come from its own hosted AI, and Pro needs an account.
AuraCloak asks Windows to exclude its window from capture with WDA_EXCLUDEFROMCAPTURE, so Zoom, Teams, Meet in a browser, Slack, Discord, OBS, Loom, Snipping Tool and PrintScreen leave it out. It has limits we won't hide: a phone camera aimed at your monitor sees it, and so can remote desktop sessions and hardware capture cards. There's no AuraCloak account, no telemetry and no chat sync. Prompts go from your PC to the provider you picked, and keys are encrypted with Windows DPAPI.

FAQ
How much does Final Round AI cost?
Final Round AI's pricing page (checked October 2026) shows a free plan for prep tools and a Pro plan from $25 a month, with savings of up to 40% on longer plans. It doesn't list each billing term on the page, and 2026 third-party reviews reported monthly rates near $148, so confirm the term before paying. There is no free trial and no lifetime plan.
Is there a cheaper Final Round AI alternative?
If you need a general private AI overlay on Windows rather than a full interview suite, AuraCloak costs $9 a month or $49 once. You bring your own AI key or use browser mode with a ChatGPT or Claude login you already have. It does not include Final Round's mock interviews, debriefs or call listening.
Does AuraCloak do mock interviews like Final Round AI?
Not as a built-in module. You can set a custom system prompt so your chosen model plays the interviewer, answer by voice with Alt+V, and keep the last 10 exchanges as context. There is no scoring, debrief report or scenario library like Final Round's eight practice types.
Does Final Round AI work on Mac?
Yes. Final Round AI lists macOS 14.4 or later and Windows. AuraCloak is Windows-only (Windows 10 version 2004 or later and Windows 11), so Mac users should look elsewhere.
Can I use my own OpenAI or Claude key with Final Round AI?
Final Round AI's site doesn't mention bring-your-own-key support or name the models it uses. AuraCloak supports OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, GitHub Copilot, Azure OpenAI and custom OpenAI-compatible endpoints.
