LockedIn AI alternative: pricing and features vs AuraCloak

LockedIn AI is a career suite: interview and meeting copilots, mock interviews, a dozen job-search tools, and apps for desktop, phone and web. AuraCloak does one thing, a private AI overlay on Windows, and costs $49 once. Which one makes sense depends on how much of LockedIn's suite you'd actually use.

Short answer

Pick LockedIn AI if you want an all-in-one job search kit (mock interviews, resume and cover letter tools, job tracker) across Mac, phone and web, with AI included. Pick AuraCloak if you mainly want private AI help during calls and screen shares on Windows, with your own model, and $49 once instead of a plan reported at $54.99 a month in 2026.

How we compared

We make AuraCloak, so we have an interest here. LockedIn AI details come from lockedinai.com and its pricing page, loaded October 11, 2026. Its prices didn't render for us, so the figures below come from named third-party reviews with their dates. Treat them as reported, not confirmed.

LockedIn AI pricing: what we could and couldn't confirm

Open LockedIn AI's pricing page and you'll see three plan types (Unlimited, Credits and Lifetime) with General and Professional tabs. When we loaded it, the prices themselves didn't appear in the page content; they load in the browser after the fact. That's why third-party sites disagree so much on what LockedIn AI costs.

Here's what the dated sources say:

PlanReported priceSource and date
Unlimited, monthly$54.99 (shown as 50% off $109.98)OphyAI review, September 29, 2026
Unlimited, quarterly$39.99/mo, about $479.88 a yearOphyAI comparison, September 2026
CreditsFrom $69.99/moOphyAI, September 2026
Unlimited, monthly$49.99Final Round AI blog, July 2026
Lifetime$1,499.25Final Round AI blog, July 2026

Note the second source is a competitor of LockedIn. Still, the range is clear: roughly $40 to $55 a month on most plans, with a lifetime price reported around $1,500.

Credits work per minute of session time and don't expire, according to LockedIn's homepage. That model rewards short sessions. A weekly 45-minute client call burns credits every time, while AuraCloak's flat price doesn't care how long you keep the overlay open.

Year-one math at the September promo price: $54.99 x 12 = $659.88. AuraCloak lifetime is $49, plus whatever your AI provider charges (or nothing extra if you use browser mode with a ChatGPT Plus or Claude Pro plan you already pay for). LockedIn includes the AI in its price; we don't. Even with a heavy API bill, the gap is wide. See the AuraCloak pricing page.

Platforms: LockedIn AI goes everywhere, AuraCloak stays on Windows

LockedIn AI lists Windows 10 and later, macOS 13.1 and later, iOS and Android apps, a web app in Chrome-family browsers, and VS Code and Cursor integration. AuraCloak runs on Windows 10 version 2004 or later and Windows 11, x64 only. If you want help on your phone or a Mac, LockedIn wins this row outright.

AI models: built-in menu vs your own provider

LockedIn AI names ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, DeepSeek and Grok as models it uses, with web search built in. You don't manage keys, and you don't see a separate AI bill.

AuraCloak hands that choice to you. OpenAI and Anthropic Claude connect with an API key. Gemini takes a key or Google sign-in. GitHub Copilot uses your GitHub login and your existing Copilot subscription. Azure OpenAI takes your company's resource and deployment, which matters if your employer only approves Azure. Ollama, LM Studio, OpenRouter and vLLM work through a custom endpoint. Switch between them from the overlay.

Or skip keys with browser mode: ChatGPT, Claude.ai, Gemini, Copilot or Perplexity load inside the overlay with your normal login, and the overlay stays excluded from screen capture.

Private AI help on Windows calls, your own model, $49 once.

Meetings and sales calls: where the two overlap

LockedIn AI started with interviews but now pitches its copilot for work meetings, presentations and sales too. That's AuraCloak's home turf, so here's how a typical moment differs.

You're sharing a demo in Teams and the prospect asks how your SSO pricing compares to a competitor's. LockedIn's copilot listens to the call and suggests an answer. With AuraCloak, you press Ctrl+Alt+Space, type or say the question (Alt+V), and read a streamed answer from the model you picked. The overlay sits on top of your demo at whatever opacity you set, and Alt+C makes it click-through so it never blocks the app underneath. Nobody on the call sees it.

The difference is control. AuraCloak never hears the other people on the call. It only answers what you ask. Some teams prefer that for compliance reasons; others want the automatic listening and should pick LockedIn.

Privacy and screen share invisibility

LockedIn AI describes a desktop Background Mode that stays on top and runs without a visible system presence. We haven't inspected how it works.

AuraCloak uses the Windows flag WDA_EXCLUDEFROMCAPTURE. Zoom, Teams, Google Meet in a browser, Slack, Discord, OBS, Loom, Xbox Game Bar, Snipping Tool and PrintScreen all leave the window out. A phone camera pointed at your screen still sees it, as do remote desktop sessions and hardware capture cards. There's no AuraCloak account, no telemetry and no chat sync; keys are encrypted with Windows DPAPI and prompts go straight to your chosen provider.

A note on interviews

LockedIn AI is marketed first as an interview copilot. AuraCloak's interview use is preparation: set a custom system prompt so your model plays the hiring manager, rehearse answers out loud with offline Whisper, and keep your research and STAR notes in one window. Many employers treat hidden live help during an interview as a rules violation, so check the rules before using any copilot in a real one. If you want structured mock interviews with reports, LockedIn has them and we don't.

Who should choose LockedIn AI, and who should choose AuraCloak

Choose LockedIn AI if:

  • You want mock interviews plus resume, cover letter and job-tracking tools in one subscription.
  • You need Mac, iPhone, Android or web access.
  • You want AI included without managing providers.
  • You want the copilot to listen to calls on its own.

Choose AuraCloak if:

  • You work on Windows and mainly need private AI help during meetings, demos and presentations.
  • You want to choose your model, or reuse ChatGPT Plus, Claude Pro, Copilot or Azure OpenAI.
  • You'd rather pay $49 once than $40 to $55 a month.
  • You don't want an account, or call audio leaving your PC.

Does LockedIn AI have a lifetime plan?

Its pricing page shows a Lifetime tab, but no price was visible when we checked in October 2026. A July 2026 third-party guide reported $1,499.25, which we could not verify. AuraCloak's lifetime license is $49.

Is there a free version of LockedIn AI?

LockedIn AI's homepage says the basic version is free. One 2026 review describes the free tier as unlimited 5-minute sessions, up to 60 minutes a day. AuraCloak has no free plan; its lowest-commitment option is one month at $9.

Does AuraCloak have a mobile app like LockedIn AI?

No. AuraCloak runs only on Windows 10 version 2004 or later and Windows 11. LockedIn AI offers Windows, macOS, iOS, Android and web apps, so pick it if you need a phone or Mac.

Can AuraCloak replace LockedIn AI for meetings?

For private AI help during meetings and sales calls on Windows, yes: you ask questions by typing, voice or screenshot in an overlay hidden from screen share. It does not listen to call audio, take meeting notes or include career tools, so it is not a full replacement for LockedIn's suite.
