Pick Interview Solver if you want a coding-focused copilot on Mac or Windows that transcribes the call, reads screenshots, takes your resume and job description, and can be triggered from your phone. Pick AuraCloak if you're on Windows and want a general overlay with your own model or GitHub Copilot, no account, no call audio capture, and a $49 lifetime license. Checked October 2026.

How we compared
We make AuraCloak, which is a bias. Interview Solver's details come from interviewsolver.com and its pricing page, read October 11, 2026. Its site doesn't list free-tier limits or the models it uses, so we say "not stated" rather than guess. We haven't tested it on a call.
Interview Solver pricing vs AuraCloak pricing
| Plan | Price | Effective monthly | One year |
|---|---|---|---|
| Interview Solver Monthly | $59/month | $59 | $708 |
| Interview Solver Interview Cycle | $149 per 3 months | About $49.67 | $596 |
| AuraCloak Monthly | $9/month | $9 | $108 |
| AuraCloak Lifetime | $49 once | n/a | $49 |
The Interview Cycle plan is a sensible design: job searches tend to run in bursts of a few months. Still, one quarter of it costs about three times AuraCloak's lifetime license.
Interview Solver includes its AI. AuraCloak uses yours, so add whatever your provider charges, or nothing if you sign in with GitHub Copilot or use browser mode with ChatGPT Plus or Claude Pro. Interview Solver also has a free tier, which we don't. More on our pricing page.
Two-sided transcription vs your own input
Interview Solver listens to the interviewer and to you, reads the problem on screen, and suggests solutions. Companion mode lets you fire screenshots, voice and prompts from a phone instead of the keyboard.
AuraCloak never hears the other side. It answers what you type, what you paste, the screenshot you take, or what you say into your own microphone after pressing Alt+V. You can pick Windows built-in speech, Azure Speech, the OpenAI Whisper API, Google Speech-to-Text, or Local Whisper, which runs offline so no audio leaves the PC.
The trade is obvious once you see it. Interview Solver does more on its own. AuraCloak does less on its own and leaves the other people on the call out of it entirely, which matters in recorded meetings or places where two-party consent laws apply.
A Windows overlay that uses your GitHub Copilot or Claude account, for $49 once.
Get AuraCloakAI models and bring-your-own-key
For code, model choice is the main quality lever. AuraCloak supports OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, GitHub Copilot through your GitHub sign-in, Azure OpenAI, and any OpenAI-compatible endpoint such as Ollama, LM Studio, OpenRouter or vLLM. Switch from the overlay whenever a model is struggling. Interview Solver doesn't publish which model it runs.
Privacy and screen share
AuraCloak: no account, no telemetry, no chat sync, API keys encrypted with Windows DPAPI, prompts sent straight to your provider. The window uses WDA_EXCLUDEFROMCAPTURE, so Zoom, Teams, Meet in a browser, Discord, OBS and PrintScreen skip it. A phone camera, a hardware capture card or a remote desktop session can still show it.
Interview Solver says it stays invisible during screen sharing and that its hotkeys can't be detected. Those are its claims; we can't verify them.
Most companies don't allow outside help during a live technical interview. Practice problems, system design rehearsal and reviewing your own solutions are where AI helps without risk.
Five things to check before paying for any copilot
Most complaints we read about tools in this category, on review sites and forum threads, come down to a handful of problems that a free tier or a short test would have exposed. Before you pay Interview Solver, us, or anyone else:
- Time the delay. Ask a question and count the seconds until a usable answer appears. Lag is the most common complaint across the category.
- Find out which model runs. If the vendor won't say, you can't tell whether a bad answer is the model or the product.
- Read the refund policy before you pay. Interview Solver, AceRound and Verve all link one, and none put the terms on the pricing page itself.
- Check platform requirements against your actual machine, including the Windows build.
- Ask where your audio, screenshots and resume go, and whether they're kept.
For AuraCloak, the answers are: it streams as fast as your chosen provider responds, the model is whatever you picked, it needs Windows 10 version 2004 or later, and nothing goes anywhere except the provider you chose. We don't offer a free tier, so test the parts you can (your API key and provider) first.
Using AuraCloak for coding prep
A practical setup: put your resume and the target role in the custom system prompt, pick a strong reasoning model, then work through practice problems with the overlay beside your editor. Ask it to critique your solution rather than write one. Screenshot your code with Alt+S and ask for the time complexity, or for edge cases you missed. Because it keeps the last 10 exchanges as context, follow-ups like "now do it in O(n)" work without re-explaining.
