How we compared

We make AuraCloak, so read this with that bias in mind. ParakeetAI's details come from parakeet-ai.com and its pricing page, both read on October 11, 2026. We haven't run ParakeetAI on a live call, so its claims about accuracy and invisibility are reported as its claims. AuraCloak's details come from our own docs.

ParakeetAI pricing vs AuraCloak pricing

ParakeetAI geo-prices. When we loaded the page it showed rupees, so a US visitor may see different numbers. Here's what it listed:

ParakeetAI planPrice shown (INR)What you get
Unlimited, monthly9,470 per monthUnlimited call sessions and mock interviews, resumes, headshots, question bank
Unlimited, yearly37,900 per yearSame, about 3,158 a month
Unlimited, weekly4,980 per weekSame, for one week
Credits2,360 for 1 credit, down to 11,070 for 15Half a credit buys 30 minutes of call session
Free0One 10-minute session, first mock interview

The credit math matters if you only have a few calls. One credit covers an hour of call time, so a single credit at 2,360 rupees is the most expensive way in, and the 15-credit pack brings it down to 738 per credit.

AuraCloak is $9 a month or $49 once, with every feature in both plans. Neither price includes AI usage: you pay OpenAI, Anthropic or Google directly with your own key, or nothing extra if you use browser mode with a ChatGPT Plus or Claude Pro subscription you already have. ParakeetAI bundles the AI, so you aren't comparing like with like. If you'd rather never think about API keys, that bundle is worth something. See the AuraCloak pricing page for the details.

Live transcription vs ask-when-you-need-it

This is the real difference, and it should decide things before price does.

ParakeetAI connects to the call (its site says you can share the call tab), transcribes what's being said and drafts an answer while you're still talking. It also reads code shared on screen. That's a hands-off loop: the tool decides when to respond.

AuraCloak waits for you. You press Ctrl+Alt+Space, type a question or paste a screenshot with Alt+S, and it streams an answer. Voice input uses your own microphone only: Alt+V to start, Alt+V again to send. It never captures the other side of the call and never answers on its own.

Which is better depends on what you're doing. A sales rep who wants a pricing table and a few objection notes on screen during a demo needs the second kind. Someone who wants a running transcript of a client meeting needs the first, and AuraCloak simply doesn't do that.

AI models, BYOK and browser mode

Both let you pick a model. ParakeetAI offers a dropdown of Gemini, GPT and Claude models with a fast default, all on its account.

AuraCloak connects to your own provider: OpenAI or Anthropic Claude with an API key, Google Gemini with a key or Google sign-in, GitHub Copilot with your GitHub login, Azure OpenAI with your company's deployment, or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint such as Ollama, LM Studio or OpenRouter. Run Ollama locally and the prompt never leaves your PC. Browser mode goes further and loads chatgpt.com, Claude.ai, Gemini, Copilot or Perplexity inside the overlay with your normal login, still hidden from screen capture.

Already paying for ChatGPT Plus? Put it in a private Windows overlay for $49 once.

Privacy and screen share

ParakeetAI requires an account and runs your sessions through its service. Its site describes the app as hidden on screen share and lists meeting apps it says it verified. We can't confirm those claims, so treat them as the vendor's.

AuraCloak has no account, no telemetry and no chat sync. API keys are encrypted with Windows DPAPI on your PC, and prompts go straight from your machine to the provider you picked. The window calls SetWindowDisplayAffinity with WDA_EXCLUDEFROMCAPTURE, so Zoom, Teams, Google Meet in a browser, OBS and Snipping Tool leave it out of what they capture. The limits are plain: a phone pointed at your monitor sees it, hardware capture cards and remote desktop sit outside Windows capture, and Windows builds before 2004 show a black box. We explain the mechanism in our guide to hiding a window from screen share.

A note on interviews

ParakeetAI's own site tells users to check the rules first, and that's good advice. Many employers don't allow outside help during a live interview. AuraCloak is built for meetings, sales calls, presentations and prep work, and we'd point you to practice sessions and notes rather than live answers.

What users say about ParakeetAI

We found few indexed Reddit threads, so most public feedback sits on ParakeetAI's own feedback board and review sites. The recurring complaints are delay between the question and the suggested answer, answers that read as generic or too polished to say aloud, and at least one report of the assistant stopping partway through a session. Positive posts tend to praise the question bank and mock interviews. That pattern fits the product: the prep tools are steady, the live loop is where things go wrong.

Who should choose ParakeetAI, and who should choose AuraCloak

Choose ParakeetAI if:

  • You want the tool to transcribe the call and draft responses without you typing.
  • You use a Mac, a Chromebook or a phone browser.
  • You want mock interviews, a company question bank and a resume builder in one subscription.
  • You'd rather pay one bill that includes the AI.

Choose AuraCloak if:

  • You're on Windows and want a $49 lifetime license instead of a recurring plan.
  • You want to choose the model and provider yourself, including Azure OpenAI or a local Ollama model.
  • You'd rather the app never touch the other side's audio.
  • You use AI across meetings, sales calls and coding, not only interviews.

FAQ

Is ParakeetAI free?

Partly. ParakeetAI offers a free 10-minute session and a free first mock interview with no credit card. Full-length calls need credits or the Unlimited plan, which it showed us in INR (9,470 a month or 37,900 a year) when we checked in October 2026.

Does AuraCloak transcribe calls like ParakeetAI?

No. AuraCloak only hears your own microphone, and only after you press Alt+V to start voice input. It doesn't capture call audio, transcribe meetings or answer automatically. You ask, it answers.

Does ParakeetAI work on Windows?

Yes. ParakeetAI has native desktop apps for Windows and macOS, plus a Chrome web app and a mobile web version. AuraCloak runs only on Windows 10 version 2004 or later and Windows 11.

Can I use my own API key with ParakeetAI?

Its site doesn't list a bring-your-own-key option. You choose from Gemini, GPT and Claude models it hosts. AuraCloak works with your own OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Azure OpenAI or custom endpoint, or your ChatGPT Plus login through browser mode.

Which is cheaper over a year?

For most people, AuraCloak. Its lifetime license is $49 once, and AI usage goes to your provider or costs nothing extra in browser mode. ParakeetAI's yearly Unlimited plan was 37,900 rupees when we checked, though it includes the AI and its prep tools.
